Uluslararası Af Örgütü ve diğer 42 kuruluş, BM İnsan Hakları Konseyi’ni acilen İran hakkında bir özel oturum gerçekleştirmeye çağırdı ve İran’da protestolara yönelik art arda uygulanan şiddetli baskılar bağlamında işlenenler dahil olmak üzere uluslararası hukuk kapsamındaki en ciddi suçları ve diğer ağır insan hakları ihlallerini ele almakla görevli bir soruşturma, raporlama ve hesap sorma mekanizması kurmaya davet etti.

Uluslararası toplum kınama açıklamaları ve İran yetkililerine hitaben uzun zamandır dile getirilen çağrıların ötesinde toplu halde adım atmazsa, daha sayısız erkek, kadın ve çocuk öldürülebilir, sakat bırakılabilir, işkence görebilir, cinsel şiddete maruz bırakılabilir, hapsedilebilir ve ağır suçlara ilişkin kanıtlar yok edilebilir.
